Role and responsibilities

As an SEM system engineer, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team and lead the design and integration of the SEM test systems for our new generation e-beam inspection system and qualify the SEMs on the test systems.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

The California base annual salary / hourly range for this role is currently $134,625 - $224,375. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and

Education and experience

A Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering

5 yr working experience in complex system design and integration
At least 2 years’ working experience with Bill of materials (BoM) release is a MUST
Familiar with CAD design tools like Solidworks and NX
Familiar with electrical and mechanical drawings
Knowledge in safety design rules
Basic knowledge in firmware, software and data communication

Strong hands on skills
Troubleshooting skills on complex system
Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
Can learn and apply new information or skills.
Must be able to read and interpret data, information and documents.

Lead the architecture design of the SEM test system, which is composed of vacuum chamber, stage, air mount, high voltage modules, electronics, power racks, computers, firmware, software and etc.
Drive the EHS and FMEA review for the test system
Make detailed design of mechanical layout and electrical layout for the test system
Release BOM for the designed system
Integrate the test system based on the design and troubleshoot issues during integration
Qualify the performance of the test system using SEM products
Work with industrialization engineers to complete the integration procedures and qualification specifications of the test system
Qualify the performance of SEM
Troubleshoot issues of the SEM systems
Support system integration during SEM integration block
Troubleshoot issues in factory and customer sites
Other duties as assigned

Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
Must be willing to lift up to 20 pounds, pull 15 pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
Require up to 15% travel (domestic and international) dependent on business needs.
