Introduction to the job

The Learning Program Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of key strategies associated with training, with a focus on creating and sustaining a top performing ASML San Diego Operations organization. Providing business perspective and insights to contextualize learning and ensures its integration to meet business goals. Applies advanced project management and instructional design skills to manage the training teams’ project deliverables and timelines, monitor competency performance, and support the continuous improvement of the Operation’s organization and training programs.

Role and responsibilities

You will be supporting multiple departments within Operations such as; Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning and Logistics, and Operational Excellence.

  • Notify the Training Manager of any discrepancies in the day-to-day execution of projects.
  • Facilitate and monitor skill and competency analysis.
  • Contribute to the Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to validate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
  • Assist in the management of organizational development programs for the San Diego Factory: Including but not limited to job rotation, competency development, myLearning (LMS) system, onboarding, etc.
  • Interfaces with engineering, technical support, manufacturing, field service, safety and other instructors in the Learning and Development Department to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage the training team’s development projects: materials, eLearning and programs, curriculum, lesson plans, and course materials.
  • Identify training projects based on business needs and own the development of relevant materials and initiatives.
  • Create and maintain project documents and timelines.
  • Lead stakeholder management associated with training and development projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success and effectiveness of the Training and Development team.
  • Develop and facilitate employee engagement initiatives such as onboarding, workshops, networking, culture and values ambassadorship, etc.
  • Actively participates in global learning initiatives and programs; Technical Training Competence Center facilitation.
  • Proactively engage in professional development & growth opportunities in order to effectively support and advise other’s.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent experience desired. 2+years direct work experience required.
  • Experience working in organizational and/or technical training environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a project management role.
  • Experience working in a world-wide organization with multiple global locations desired.
  • Experience working in the semiconductor, manufacturing, or technical industries desired.

  • Ability to execute project management tasks in a timely manner and escalate as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and partner with Training Teams, Operational Staff and Leadership to build trust and influence at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and initiatives with direct and indirect authority.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations based upon findings.
  • Ability to influence/negotiate through formal and informal networks.
  • Analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage a variety of resources according to a detailed project plan.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with diverse requirements with good judgment.
  • Skill with using a variety of computer applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, e-mail, LMS, and scheduling applications) required.
  • Ability to work effectively within an independent and a team environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
