Lead efforts behind key organization for ASML and Wilton factory: manage organization responsible for material delivery and availability for all of Wilton Factory. Organization value stream is comprised of Warehousing & Inbound Logistics (Material Inbound Contamination Control (MICC/Dispatch), Clean Room Logistics personnel, and EUV clean street). This branch of the logistics organization is in front of coordination of all material movements and delivery to the factory up to ensure material availability on time for production builds. This role will own management of the 3rd party logistics providers supporting the WF central warehouse along with all functions within the departments of inbound logistics. Role is expected to drive the strategy for all material delivery and availability across the organization and work with factory leaders to develop continuous improvement objectives and improve current processes/competences for overall factory logistics in order to continually meet the continuous increasing material demands of WF production.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

Organizational context:

  • Direct Manager: Senior Logistics Manager or Cluster Manager.
  • Direct Reports: (2-3) WF MICC Group Leads, (1) Warehouse manager.
  • Indirect reports: Organization comprised of ~40 persons across all disciplines.
  • Key interfaces (internal, external): External 3rd Party logistics providers, ASML sectors involved with planning and logistics, ASML WF sub-sectors –direct interface will be with other logistics departments with primary customer being internal Wilton Factory manufacturing.
  • Interaction with stakeholders: Role will be direct interface for WF logistics to work closely with other logistics and planning colleagues in Wilton and around the world to ensure strategies to evolve the material processing within Wilton is best in class. Interact with multiple disciplines across the factory with operations, D&E, finance, and other support groups to ensure process adherence initiatives are being addressed as well as evolved. Drive the strategy of the organization to ensure superior customer service is provided, request and evaluate feedback as means of developing team and performance across organization.

Roles, Responsibilities & Key Decisions

  • This manager will oversee all functions within the logistical departments related to material delivery, inclusive of ownership of 3rd party logistic performance as critical service provider for WF. Role is expected to lead and coach the team of logistics personnel across multiple disciplines related to material delivery strategy and communication. Manager is expected to develop, enhance, and implement policies and practices as well as group targets to create synergies across functions supporting warehousing and factory logistics. Leader will leverage experience to create linkage and collective process improvement projects across WF logistics and 3 p/l providers to enhance processes and create best in class communications for efficient and effective material delivery to our internal customers. This leader will manage the organization from a strategic lens, building performance management measures (KPI development and adherence) to ensure the realization of (strategic) objectives to meet corporate targets for Wilton Factory related to on time and in full material availability. Manager will provide continuous assessment of organizational performance and develop strategy to drive continuous improvement and development of functional areas.
  • Work together with various other WF leaders responsible for building modules to create strategies to further enhance impact across operations.

Job content:

  • Leads and helps develop organization of ~40 material handling professionals spanning multiple disciplines related to internal factory logistics and warehouse management.
  • Drive performance management cycles including target setting, mid and end year reviews.
  • Drive development, talent management and succession planning within the production logistics team.
  • Develop, align, monitor and execute an improvement roadmap for Production Factory Logistics process improvements and driving structural improvements through project initiatives-with regular update communication internally and to external stakeholders.
  • Setup, improve and maintain key performance indicators to manage performance of Factory Logistics proactively-understand and manage On Time in Full (OTIF) KPI (critical KPI).
  • Participates in cross-sector improvement projects related to material availability.
  • Coaches competencies within team, as well as guides WF subsectors on material movement improvements.

Main interface and liaison for other sectors and communication surrounding all items related to material delivery strategy, such as (but not limited to):

  • Organization structure to support 7x24 support of Manufacturing activities.
  • Strategy surrounding warehouse management operations and fit to LEAN structure.
  • Cross-sectoral best known methods (competency centers).
  • Hoshin Kanri/Breakthrough project initiatives for factory logistics.
  • Strategic team decisions, guidance and clarification for internal subsectors to deliver results.
  • Communication to WF management on behalf of factory logistics.
  • Interfaces and builds relations to create best known methods within ASML related to material availability.

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree with focus on supply chain management, logistics, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ experience working in operations within factory environment, with strong understanding of material flows within factories with multiple work centers and operations.
  • Basic knowledge technology and SAP operating system.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehousing operations, internal factory logistics, and all corresponding processes for material flow.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience of large organizations >25 people.
  • Experience in driving organizational change & can demonstrate change management.
