Are you a bachelor or master student in computer science, software engineering or similar? Do you have a high interest for or some experience with database development and an affinity with Mendix? Are you a pragmatic thinker with strong analytical skills? Then this internship could be itneresting for you!

Background information

ASML is developing state-of-the-art technology for the semiconductor industry. Reliability of our systems is of key importance to our customers. To become world-class in reliability, the reliability competence team is investigating ways to prevent failures as much as possible. One way to do this is by creating a database to capture knowledge from research and past work around a specific failure mechanism, for example, Fatigue of Steels.

Your assignment

This internship focuses on the final development or at least requirements and a prototype for a Mendix based relational database, that has a relatively simple structure and contains qualitative data (no complex calculation). This should lead to a intranet based database with specific forms to input data and specific reporting options.

The study starts with ordering, collecting and deriving the technical requirements from the needs from the reliability department for storage of their fundamental competence information. Next step is the building of a proto database that can be tested by some pilot cases. Final step is the development of a functional database in a Mendix "platform".

This internship is intended as a graduation project for bachleor students or as an apprentice internship for master students. The preferred start date is in September 2022, and the duration depends on the weekly availability of the student (minimum 6 months).

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a bachelor/master student in computer science, software engineering or similar;
  • Have a pragmatic attitude and strong analytical as well as communicational skills;
  • Are highly interested in database development, or better, have some experience with it;
  • Have an affinity with Mendix;
  • Speak and write English on an advanced level;
  • Are available full-time for a minimum of 6 months, or part-time but longer.

Please note that we may only consider candidates who remain enrolled as students at their university for the whole duration of the internship.
