This position reports to the MPS Applications Global Manager which is part of the Business Development Organization and has internal interfaces with Customer Service, Sales and external interfaces with Customers, other suppliers.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

Field Applications Engineer for Mature Products will support the install base of Steppers and Scanners at Customer sites to help maximize performance in Imaging, Overlay and Productivity.

Location is flexible; can be located in Minnesota or Texas.

This position is also responsible for Sales Support and Demos, Training, and 3rd Line Escalations for PAS Applications World Wide.


  • Translate a customer on-product issue into a potential lithography related problem statement, resolve these issues to help them maximize the performance and use of ASML products.
  • Maximize the application of ASML products & options to the benefit of the customer.
  • Participate in pro-actively identifying ASML applications product opportunities for our customer.
  • Document and provide training on procedures, processes, best known methods to aid customers in use of ASML products.
  • Join customers in experimentation to ensure that they are performed in an efficient manner for accuracy.
  • Conduct data analysis to ensure that the correct conclusions are drawn from customers acquired experimental data and results reported to ASML and customer.
  • Meet with internal and external customers to maintain two-way level of commitment to keep all involved and affected parties informed of progress.
  • Prepare technical presentations to provide new user support and assists sales in technical presentations.
  • Participate and/or lead projects which are aimed at supporting our customer transition to a new technology node or ramp up a specific technology node.

This position has the following goals:

  • 1) Maintain knowledge of critical information for ASML's systems, customer's product process, and usage to sustain MPS business.
  • 2) Drive revenue growth for MPS BL by creating and implementing new services that enhance customer's process window, productivity and yield.
  • 3) Solve ASML CSE's and Customer's complex issues by using knowledge of the interaction between systems and customer's process.
  • 4) Identify and justify added value of ASML's solution leading to the sale of tools, options and services for existing and potential MPS Customers.

Education and experience

  • BS/MS Engineering degree Physics, Optics, Electronics, IC manufacturing or Process Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the semiconductor or related industry and an in-depth understanding of photolithography products and their operation preferred.
  • The candidate must possess a high level of technical ability and Project Planning skills.
  • Ability to draw conclusion from written and computer generated reports, ability to analyze data and reports, conduct research, search for solutions to problems, and create methodologies to reach objectives.
