Introduction to the job

You take the lead in shaping the look & feel of our (future) software applications, creating a visual appeal that fits the software’s professional nature. You will communicate and collaborate with other UX/UI designers and stakeholders that are developing new applications. You will be challenged to evolve and maintain the roadmaps and processes that help the UX teams to contribute to the Design System in an agile SW development environment. Next to this, you guide the common component software development team in the implementation of the Design System’s specifications.

Role and responsibilities

The core of the work will entail UX/UI design of common components and patterns in a professional lithography data analysis platform, which is being realized with state of the art web technology. These components and patterns range from basics like buttons and dropdowns, to complex and domain specific, like industry specific data visualizations. Next to this, you will coordinate, plan, review, and guide contributions to the Design System specifications made by other UX professionals in the ASML organization. You keep a close connection with the UX Technical Competence Lead, UX architects and software architects to look ahead and anticipate future needs. Also, you work closely with the Product Owner and software developers in the Common Component development team, to help prioritize and guide the implementation of the design system specifications.

Education and experience


Bachelor or Master Degree in interaction design, human computer interaction, media design or equivalent.


  • 8+ years of relevant design experience in a corporate environment
  • Experience in working with design systems

Technical skills:

Your portfolio will exhibit high caliber visual UI work and clear contributions to design systems.

  • Excellent analytical, creative and visual design skills
  • Working knowledge of software development processes
  • Experience with responsive design for applications on desktop/laptop
  • Affinity with creating, maintaining and structuring design specifications
  • Proficiency in English
  • Experience in Figma and Adobe Illustrator
