Introduction to the job
Sr. Reliability Engineer works with different sectors of the company to ensure the new product meet reliability specs, resolve field reliability issues and improve product reliability in the field.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Role and responsibilities
Establish DfR methodology for new product development and work with system engineering, product development function clusters and other sectors to make new product meet reliability spec.
Develop reliability test plan to conduct HALT/HASS test to detect the weakest point of the design and evaluate reliability of the newly designed modules.
Analyzes product reliability data, determine reliability improvement direction and actions and work with engineering to improve reliability of the products in field.
Organize or participate FMEA sessions with design team to determine reliability risks and come up mitigation plan.
Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations.
Analyze and monitors failure data generated by customer or service engineers to ascertain potential requirement for product improvement, jointly determine the improvement direction and approach with design team.
Education and experience
MS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or other engineering field with 3 years reliability engineering experience
Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or other engineering field with 1 years reliability engineering experience.
Reliability engineering experience in semiconductor equipment industry or aviation/aerospace industry.
Experience of reliability statistics and data analysis.
Experience of common tools of reliability analysis and improvement, such as FMEA and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of HALT/HASS test.
Solid and board engineering background and knowledge.
