This job is based in San Jose and mainly focus on ebeam inspection system.

Role and responsibilities

As SEM E-Layout architect, your mission is to specify, design, realize and qualify electrical and safety infrastructure of SEM function for our ebeam inspection system.
This job also serves as major interface towards system E-Layout.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

  • Deliver functional overview, block diagram and module list describing SEM electronics, support BOM creation and release.
  • Deliver cable overview describing inter-connection within SEM electronics and connection interfaces with other FC.
  • Propose power supply solutions for SEM electronics and deliver power supply requests towards system E-Layout.
  • Propose, deliver and implement grounding design of SEM SF, including SEM EO, electronics modules, etc.
  • Together with system E-Layout FA, deliver layout and PE design for SEM electronics.
  • Together with system M-Layout FA, works as Volume Controller for SEM Electronics.
  • Deliver functional specification (EPS), test specification (TPS), design specification (EDS), qualification document (TAR) and other documentations for SEM E-Layout related functionalities.
  • Support integration and related trouble shooting activities of SEM SF.
  • Provide input for SEM E-Layout design roadmap, including safety, grounding, EMI/EMC, PS, volume, service, diagnostics, etc.
  • Support SEM TestRig design, implementation, integration and verification.
  • Other related works to enable SEM electronics functionality and performance, including travel within ASML or to customer site.

Education and experience

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3 years of relevant work experience or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of electronics or electrical hands-on design experience.
  • Experience as architect with multi-disciplinary system design is strongly preferred.
  • Has experience with general electrical engineering principles and electrical development methods and processes.
  • Has knowledge of electrical connection methods, AC mains power, DC power distribution and signal transmission.
  • Has knowledge on standards for EMC and electrical safety (International (IEC) standards, US standards (NFPA, UL)) and preferably SEMI.
  • Has knowledge on EMI/EMC design principle to minimize coupling induced disturbance.
  • Has the ability to set up cabling concepts.
  • Knowledge/hands-on experience with software/technical tools (i.e. Xpedition or similar schematic/layout tool, Visio or similar diagram tool, NX or similar mechanical design tool, etc.)
  • System modeling, simulation (Simulink or similar) and verification tooling (Labview or similar) experience is a plus.

Role within the Lab/Cleanroom
Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to lift up to X pounds, pull Y pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.

The Californiabase annual salary/hourly range for this role is currently$ 115,875 - $193,125 . Payscales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with marketdata. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment ofseveral factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but notlimited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience,certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other teammembers.
