Other information

The LSO Customs function manages the compliance risks related to imports and exports formalities. Next to risk like penalties, denial of export privileges and imprisonment for officers of the company in case of violations of import and export laws and regulations, the risk can also be quantified in Euros. Except for services and software sold by ASML, ASML’s total revenue needs to cross borders and will at a certain point in time, be subject to import and export regulation and compliance. With an average duty rate of ~2%, the total risk that the LSO Customs function manages can be quantified around 100mE globally.
Next to financial impact, managing compliance with (local) regulations is key to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain. Operational and supply chain disturbances resulting from non-compliance or an inadequate customs infrastructure (goods held/delayed by customs) can have serious impact on our commitment to our customers or own organization.
