Role and responsibilities

Your mission is focused on (but not limited to!) our Circular Economy theme: Help ASML succeed in its ambitions to become circular and eliminate waste.Over the past years, we already succeeded in substantially reducing the amount of waste we generate, and now need to scale up efforts to achieve further reductions.

How we aim to eliminate waste:

  1. Learn by improving our understanding and data on resources & waste flows
  2. Rethink designs & processes to avoid environmental impact
  3. Extend lifetime & productivity of system to maximize resource value
  4. Reuse resources within our own value chain, to minimize 5 waste streams
  5. Recycle materials to give resources a new life, if we can no longer reuse resources ourselves

In this context, your responsibilities include:

  • Help define/update our Circular Economy vision, strategy, and KPIs
  • Identify concrete improvement opportunities to reduce waste
  • Develop roadmaps and projects for specific improvement options
  • Collaborate with the Reuse teams and others to accelerate progress & clear bottlenecks
  • Help quantify the benefits of our initiatives and contribution to our Net Zero roadmap
  • Support the drive towards a ‘no-waste’ culture within ASML, by supporting events, change management and communication efforts
  • Take part in ESG Sustainability activities that focus on other ESG Sustainability themes

Education and Experience

8+ years of relevant experience in Sustainability / Circular Economy strategy, preferably in a corporate, technology-related environment

  • Master-level education in a relevant field, Engineering background is a ‘pre’
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Analysis is a ‘pre’
  • (Sustainability) Strategy consulting background is a ‘pre’ – either as consultant or in-house
  • Advanced English skills

Other Information

ASML’s Board of management is responsible for ESG Sustainability. You will be part of the ESG Sustainability Strategy team, working in close collaboration with our Program management and business stakeholders. You will report to the ESG Sustainability Strategy director./

Our team is based in Veldhoven, we have adopted hybrid working: we work both from the office and from home. In this position you will be travelling internationally up to 5% of your time.
