As a market leader and fast growing company ASML has its responsibility to care for Environmental, Social and Governance impact. Currently,the priority in Technologies and Development has been set to work on Energy Efficiency & Climate action, Circular Economy and Responsible Supply Chain.

In the System engineering department we contribute to this by defining the right product requirements and execution by development and operations.

Role and responsibilities

This is a new role in the System EngineeringDUV (Deep Ultra-Violet) team which fits into the function System Engineer profile.
As Function System Engineer, you define and lead the execution of product and process improvements related to the environmental impact of our system.

You will be part of an cross sector team where you define opportunities are for saving energy, preventing waste and reducing the carbon footprint of our system and operation.
You work together with experts from development & engineering (D&E) on reliability, serviceability, re-use and cost. You are responsible to make system level analyses to steer where the best opportunities are and translate this into a roadmap.

Your scope will be New Product introduction (NPI) as well as Installed base management and Services (IBP&S).

Your tasks and responsibilities include the following:

  • You interact with ASML D&E and operational sectors in order to define ESG drivers and to identify concrete design and process improvements to steer on reduction and/or value increase.
  • You provide ESG related input to design decisions.
  • Together with a dedicated project leader, you translate this proposal to a plan of action, defining the scope and resources necessary.

Education and experience

Education
Min. MSc degree in (applied) Physics or engineering, (applied) Mathematics, Industrial engineering is mandatory. You have a solid background in several of the following fields: semiconductor manufacturing and process technology, data analysis, statistics, system engineering.

Experience

  • You have a minimum of 8 years of experience within industry.
  • You combine in depth technical knowledge and experience in overseeing complex systems and product roadmaps.
  • You have experience or a strong interest in sustainability.
  • Experience in Development, Manufacturing engineering and/or Maintenance engineering is a strong plus.

Context of the position
The department of System Engineering is part of the Product and Technology sector of ASML and consists of about 140 employees. As Function System Engineer, you work in a demanding multidisciplinary environment.Your internal stakeholders are the higher development & engineering (D&E) management, group leaders responsible for resources, project leaders executing the implementation of the product improvement proposal, architects and fellow application system engineers. Your main responsibility will be in ESG.

Other information
Travelling a few times per year to customers or suppliers worldwide is to be expected.
