Role and responsibilities

Take full ownership of the hardware development or issues from start to end. You define the team scope, execute based on a solid team plan and guard progress in time. You are responsible for delivering the defined functionality at the right performance level. You will actively identify and manage issues and risks and report on progress to the various stakeholders.

Next to above you will lead a team of tooling engineers to achieve optimal results in a multidisciplinary project setting. Support the project leads to achieve good quality results at the right time for our customers. The Project Team Leader reports to the group leader Manufacturing and Service Tooling.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in mechanic developments and issues.
  • Define team scope and secure cross sector deliverables.
  • Define and prioritize the activities to make realistic plan agreements.
  • Structure the development and guide the team to achieve good quality results.
  • Get interdependencies clear with other teams and with other projects. Pro-actively manage them.
  • Communicate clearly on the progress and needs to your stakeholders.
  • Review technical solutions proposed, manage time, quality and budget as well as the risks in your project.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of your team to key stakeholders and management.
  • Organize a cross sector team of up to 10 engineers.
  • Make sure that the right competencies are secured within the team and take care for the lessons learned.

Education and experience

(Technical) Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering

  • At least 3 years of experience in team management of complex technical development projects with a strong functional component.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing, integrating, testing and realization of complex multidisciplinary products for volume manufacturing, preferably in high tech sector.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required.

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The department Mechanical Development is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. As a part of the department Mechanical Engineering the group Manufacturing and Service Tooling is responsible for the specification, engineering and qualification of tooling that is required for manufacturing and servicing of ASML modules (enabling e.g. precision adjustments, qualification, etc.)

This position requires access to US controlled technology.
