Introduction to the job

Are you an experienced software architect looking for an exciting new challenge? Would you like to drive the software roadmap for our EUV systems? This might be the job for you!!

Role and responsibilities

As a Software Architect you understand the market trends and their impact on our customer needs. You are in charge of the continuous evolution of the software architecture of our products, so our current and upcoming machines will at all times be able to meet their timing budgets. You make sure our systems are serving the customers’ needs, can be manufactured and serviced and are timely available against minimal costs. You balance those needs with our continuous quest for improvement.

In your role you will:

  • Contribute to the creation of the roadmap realizing the business drivers (imaging, overlay, focus, productivity) of our lithographic tools, and create the technology roadmap derived from that.
  • Perform trade-off studies to determine the preferred method and technology to realize the system functions you are responsible for.
  • Integrate the results from studies, experience and research into a SW architecture balancing the long term improvement needs with the sort term business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on requirements, specifications and design and ensure filing of relevant information in the filing system.
  • Keep up with relevant developments, technological and market related, in own field of specialization. Develop and maintain own network and exchange knowledge with other professionals.
  • Lead, coach, develop and appraise employees within the person’s expertise / team.
  • Define, plan, manage and coordinate assigned (portfolio of) projects and ensure execution and delivery, within the project management guidelines.

Education and experience

  • MSc, PDEng or PhD in Computer Science , Informatics, Embedded Systems or equivalent.
  • Software Architect with 5-10 years of experience in large-scale software applications - embedded programming is preferred.
  • You can explain complex matters to stakeholders of various levels
  • C, C++, Python programming in a Linux environment
  • UML, OOP, Design Patterns
  • Clearcase, SVN, Git, Jenkins
  • Agile, Scrum, V-Model
  • Matlab knowledge is an advantage
  • Willingness to investing in a basic understanding of the physics behind our systems is a must
  • Technical background of semiconductor industry processes, process integration, process control, semiconductor devices and manufacturing is a plus.
