The ASML HR Learning & Knowledge Management (L&KM) team provides solutions that enable the growth and performance of our people, customers, partners, and company.

The User Experience (UX) competence supports teams across the company, such as L&KM, to design delightful services and applications that enable ASML employees to work more efficiently and effectively, that are quickly adopted and continuously used, and that provide a consistent user experience across applications, devices, and locations.

Role and responsibilities

Our L&KM team is looking for a UX lead to help shape the learning journeys of our ~40.000 employees globally. We want to provide them with a high quality and seamless end-to-end user experience across multiple applications and processes. You will do user research, facilitate design thinking workshops with stakeholders, create UI mockups and/or make recommendations for the configuration of standard business software, apply and contribute to the ASML design guidelines and test the usability of prototypes with users from all over the world. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and coach three other service/UX designers in the team. You will thus be the lead in defining, embedding and executing the user-centered design process across the full L&KM scope and portfolio. Furthermore, you will pro-actively share challenges and best practices with your ±90 peer designers from the virtual UX competence team.

The main activities in this job will be:

Service Design & User Research

  • Organize and facilitate workshops with various stakeholders to discover opportunities for improvement;
  • Prepare and execute qualitative and sometimes quantitative user research methods;
  • Communicate findings using e.g., personas, user journey maps, service blueprints, user stories;
  • Design the end-to-end user experience throughout the L&KM systems and processes;
  • Validate prototypes through local, remote, moderated and unmoderated usability tests;
  • Measure and monitor the end-to-end user experience throughout the L&KM systems and processes;
  • Create project storytelling and do stakeholder management.

Interaction Design & Configuration

  • Create wireframes and interactive prototypes;
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to better configure the UIs of (standard) L&KM systems and processes;
  • Apply the ASML brand/design guidelines and improve or extend them if necessary;
  • Align your designs with the functional and technical stakeholders.

Strategy & Coaching

  • Translate the L&KM people and business strategy to service/UX design priorities;
  • Build capabilities within the L&KM team(s) by providing customer-centric coaching and training;
  • Define the right user-centered design approach based on the learning and knowledge management's status quo (budget, timelines, availability of skills, etc.);
  • Embed the approach in the team’s way of working and safeguard it under sometimes adverse conditions;
  • Coach your fellow service/UX designers and make them successful in their jobs;
  • Pro-actively share challenges and best practices with your peers from the UX competence.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an area such as Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, or Engineering;
  • More than 5 years of professional UX experience (post-degree);
  • Ability to build seamless employee experiences spanning multiple systems and processes;
  • Ability to plan work and deliver on agreed goals independently;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines;
  • Ability to execute and drive results pro-actively;
  • Ability to deal with resistance and convince others of the value of UX;
  • Ability to balance short- and long-term goals, to compromise and to adapt way of working;
  • Ability to work under time pressure and rapidly changing conditions;
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written. Profound knowledge of Dutch is a plus;
  • Work on-site in Veldhoven, The Netherlands for at least two days per week.
