Introduction to the job

This position is within the CS Central Services & Quality sector. The CS Organization is responsible for the installation, qualification, repair and maintenance of the ASML systems at our customers’ sites and is responsible for the necessary transfer of know-how to the customer. Local Customer Support branches (Field Support) perform these tasks at the customers within their specific region. The training department is the crucial link between the development department and the thousands of colleagues working at customer sites worldwide and engineers in the Netherlands performing this excellent support. The training department develops and delivers technical training through 1000’s of training events yearly worldwide. Most trainees are from the CS sectors and 10% of the trainees are customer engineers. The training department has training facilities in the Netherlands, China, Taiwan, Korea, and USA.

The primary mission is you will give technical training to engineers on several levels:

Level 1: Introduction to the machine (functional overview and machine operation)
Level 2: Maintenance and Adjustments (major replacements, calibrations)
Level 3: Advanced subjects (troubleshooting and diagnostics)
Also, within our department you will work in one or more projects supporting the learning needs of our customers. You will drive collaboration with several other departments (e.g. Field CS, Factory, Logistics, Facility, and EHS). We will need your expertise to translate customer requirements into blended learning training packages as part of training material updates and maintenance. Last but not the least, we expect you to support our instructors/developers/architects from other training centers so that they can perform their responsibilities professionally.

Role and responsibilities

Technical knowledge management
As a technical instructor you will be responsible for delivering high quality technical training to engineers from the CS sector. You will also be responsible for creating and modifying training solutions for issues escalated from CS engineers in the field. Additionally you will work with our training developers/architects to develop the training content. You will be a member of the CS Learning Department (~140 employees worldwide managing training business for DUV, APPS, YS, HMI, and EUV).

- Take immediate action to correct wrongdoing and speak up for pressing matters (e.g. safety violation)

- Manage your operations tasks to secure training operations.
- Maintain and update the training content as key contributor for ASML knowledge and skill transfer to the customer (internal & external)

Education and experience

University (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Science & Engineering field (Electrical, Technology, Mechatronics, Chemistry, Materials, Mechanical, Physics, and Computer Science)

Skills

- Knowledge of technical knowledge development and transfer to user required
- Knowledge of safety requirements and procedures required
- Knowledge on higher vocational level of semiconductor technologies (e.g. product design, fabrication, and equipment), combined with relevant experience in ASML (internal candidate)
- Experience of working in semiconductor fab environment or field service organization
- Experience of machine trouble shooting and diagnostics (hands-on)
- Experience of professional English working environment
