Role and responsibilities

We are looking for a highly talented individual to join our software quality assurance team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure high quality of world-class product. You will be challenged with high skill QA testing methodologies in concurrent computing software architecture environment. You will have the opportunity to work with software developers, hardware engineers and the application engineering organization on a regular basis.

The Software Engineer in Test plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software meets client needs, while being cost-effective.
Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve malfunctions to meet quality standards.

Education and experience

Minimum qualifications:

The hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Applied Physics, or any related engineering:

Advanced degree is preferred

0-3 years equivalent experience.

  • Familiar with software QA methodologies, tools and processes and software development cycle.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases. .
  • Working experience in Unix or Linux environment.
  • Solid knowledge of at least one of programming and scripting skills, Python, C++ or Perl.
  • Excellent numerical analysis and logic thinking.
  • Knowledge of Robot Framework is preferred.
  • Working experience on HPC environment or Azure Cloud is a plus.
  • Knowledge on optics or microlithography is definitely a good plus.
  • Review requirements, specifications and software design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize and plan testing activities.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts.
  • Detect, record and verify bugs.
  • Perform and analyze regression tests.
  • Perform regular root cause analysis for any missing bugs and develop improvement plans.
  • Develop new test tools

This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
