Job Mission

You are responsible for defining, maintaining and communicating a shared architectural and technical vision for a full-stack software development platform, called Mirai, and become the system architect in the leading coalition of the Agile Release Train (ART). You will lead and take ownership of all aspects regarding practices, standards and guidelines wrt. full-stack, pro-code software development. Herewith you are helping ASML to answer complex and evolving challenges, addressing global ASML specific and business critical processes to enable our fast growing workforce worldwide.

Job Description

As System Architect you will be part of the ‘Leading Coalition’, together with the RTE (Release Train Engineer) and the CPO (Chief Product Owner) of the Mirai ART. This ART consists of multiple agile development teams and various external IT solution providers. It is responsible for providing a full-stack, pro-code software development platform, composed out of specific technologies, tools and practices.

Main activities:

·Owning and single point of contact regarding architecture of the Mirai platform

·Develop roadmaps, identify and conceptualize new technologies, tooling and practices to continuously innovate the Mirai platform

·Collaborate with solution architects to determine and analyze technical trade-offs, determine the primary solution direction, components and subsystems, identify the interfaces and collaborations between them, define non-functional requirements (NFRs)

·Coach teams that are engaged in Mirai(-related) initiatives and enable them through to execution. You work closely with both internal customers and various suppliers.

·Aligning with teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) to a shared solution and technical direction, validating architecture and technology choices, and evaluate implementation alternatives.

As System Architect you are responsible for topics like:

·Technology radar for full-stack, pro-code software development (Adopt, Assess, Trial, Hold)

·Ownership of our CI/CD and development tooling (eg. GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, BlackDuck, NodeJS, IntelliJ IDEA)

·Cloud-native development strategy & continuous improvements

·Software development competence improvements

·Connect to other software development disciplines in/out-side ASML


Master's degree in Information Technology or similar with proven experience in leading full-stack, pro-code software development architecture and building full-stack software solutions and automations.


At least 8 years of experience as an IT architect on senior level

·10+ years’ experience with building full-stack, pro-code software solutions

·Proven experience in delivering architectural principles, processes, infrastructure and solutions

·Experience with solution delivery in a high-tech environment

·Experience with Agile software development and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodologies

·Up-to date with modern software development practices and cloud-native practices

·Up-to-date with modern software development technology stacks and how to deploy them in a large sized, Enterprise level environment

Context of the position

A sub-department within the IT organization is ‘P&T IT Solution Delivery’. This department is responsible in providing services, tools and platforms that are being used to design, develop, build, test, simulate and integrate product software, hardware and electronics. Its goal is to be the first-choice consultant of all our business partners (SE, D&E, BL Apps, BL EUV, BL DUV and CS).
