Introduction to the job

The International Mobility Office supports new hire and internal transferee in the area of immigration, social security, tax, housing, insurance, relocation, compensation and benefits related matters related to international assignments.This person will collaborate with the recruiting team, HR business partners, payroll, finance, hiring managers and employees to provide context, consultation, and guidance around the complexity of Global Mobility practices and issues.The position will be a member of the Global Mobility team within the Total Rewards Organization and will play a significant role in supporting the Global Mobility process.

This position is located in San Diego, California.It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).

Role and responsibilities

  • Initiate, manage, monitor and coordinate the end-to-end process and day-to-day operations and activities in partnership with the Relocation, Immigration and Tax vendors to ensure compliance, cost effectiveness and optimal service levels to ServiceNow global mobile employee population.
  • Ensure new hire and internal transferees are well informed about the relocation and immigration touch points, thus understanding the stages of their move to include strategy, vendor role and case progression.
  • Provide stellar consultative support to the employee, and new hire candidate, talent acquisition team, hiring managers and HR business partners prior to hire and during cross border transfers relocations, including cost analysis, immigration, vendor initiation and coordination
  • Work closely with business on the best strategy to deploy long term assignee in various country combinations. Explain policies and provide advice for the business to make sound decisions.
  • Provides regular updates to relevant employees and business with regards to status of immigration case
  • Provide viable options to overcome mobility challenges and achieve corporate priorities
  • Advise the transferee and stakeholders on relocation and complex immigration policy matters and process changes as appropriate
  • Stays current with laws, regulations and procedures governing international mobility and immigration
  • Takes active role in major department projects
  • Support local HR team as needed

Education and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Human Resource or equivalent and 5 to 10 years of experiences in global mobility, tax, immigration, relocation, or HR field.
  • Active participation in mid-scale HR projects
  • Experiences in expat salary update rounds, assignment related tools implementation, and/or setup of new site for assignment will be a plus
  • Prior career in a matrix organization is preferred
