We are looking for an algorithm development expert to work with an advanced R&D team developing novel systems at the bleeding edge interface of Physics, Image Processing and Machine Learning. You will be working in a technology inspired, fast paced environment, developing high performing and robust algorithm solutions and contributing to an evolving, scalable and future proof algorithm platform architecture.
The team is positioned in the Business Line Applications in ASML, developing the next generation optical wafer metrology systems.

Role and responsibilities

In this challenging position, you will be responsible for developing novel algorithmic approaches, creative implementations as well as building on top of the existing legacy of algorithms.

  • Develop novel physics-based modeling and simulation tools using primarily Python and C+.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams in image processing, computer vision, data-driven numerical algorithms.
  • Write high-quality, performant, and maintainable code
  • Implementation of novel algorithms on the existing and available hardware (local solutions on YS as well as cloud based solutions)
  • Interfacing across Physics, Image Processing and Software teams
  • Building and maintaining algorithm performance framework architecture
  • Focus on SW quality standards, unit testing & procedures
  • Building reusable components cross-teams

Education and experience

  • MSc degree or equivalent experience in the field of Computer Science, Computational Physics, or similar field
  • 3+ years of experience with C++ and python
  • 3+ years of experience in applied research and/or product development.
  • 3+ years of experience with Machine Learning / Pattern Recognition / Signal Processing
  • Understanding of Object Oriented SW Architecture Patterns & .NET integration

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Experience with Algorithm Implementation and optimization including experience in parallel programming
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the classical data structures and an understanding of how to classify algorithms for their runtime and space-time complexity
  • Demonstrable skills in analytic computing and algorithms
  • Demonstrable knowledge of programming concepts such as multi-threading, memory management, and query processing
  • Passionate for squeezing performance out of every clock pulse
  • Understanding of algorithm performance & scalability
  • Experience with C, C#, C++, Boost, Python, CUDA, OpenCL, OpenCV, VTK, ITK.
  • Experience with a machine learning tools, such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Scikit-Learn, ML .NET or equivalent
  • Experience with cloud-native development (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies
