The group Sensors Mechanics and Stage positioning modules is part of the Mechanical Development cluster and is responsible for the design of optical sensor systems, like interferometers and image sensors.
The internships' objective is the design of two brackets for existing sensors including drawings ready to order. The currently used brackets show a not desired low Eigenfrequency. In order to optimize the dynamic behavior the interfaces of the brackets at a lens where they are mounted on can be discussed and revised.
The assignment consists of designing two optimized connection brackets for a couple of sensors each. The target of optimization for those brackets is to get a higher Eigenfrequency compared to the current brackets. A preliminary design of the brackets is available for orientation. The volume available for the brackets is confined while the sensor position is defined and need to be as in the current system. Therefore, you will:
- analyze the current design;
- design a new concept of two brackets;
- define the new interface at the lens;
- detail out the design of the brackets;
- create Technical Product Documentation;
- ordering protoparts is an appreciated option.
To be the perfect match for this internship, you:
- are a bachelor or master student in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
- have experience in CAD;
- have experience in Finite Element Method;
- have knowledge in mechanical tolerances;
- are solution oriented;
- have great communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
This is a bachelor's graduation or master's apprentice project. The minimum duration is 5 months, 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible.
Please note that we may only consider applicants who are enrolled as a student to a university for the whole duration of the internship.
This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
