The Technician will develop, document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, mechanical, optical, physical, and/or environmental inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements.

Role and responsibilities

  • Perform tools and equipmentcalibration and metrology
  • Identify and utilizeappropriate measurement procedures
  • Record and maintain calibrationdata with accuracy in database
  • Regularly communicates withinternal customers regarding status of calibration requests
  • Prepares tools shipping requestto all FSE sites timely, meeting applicable Trade & Customrequirements
  • Use statistics to analyzemeasurement standards and processes
  • Analyze and solve calibrationproblems using basic mathematical and technical knowledge
  • Evaluate new calibrationmethods and procedures.May develop basic software to assist incalibration laboratory and/or departmental processes
  • Define and acquire equipment,standards (e.g. NIST), and procedures to accomplish required measurements
  • Maintain calibration laboratoryand/or departmental accreditation and/or quality systems compliance
  • Perform calibration laboratoryand/or departmental housekeeping
  • Maintain and publishcalibration metrics and KPIs such as cycle time, aging, repair cost etc.
  • Performsother duties as assigned

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma
  • A.S.inElectronics preferred
  • Requires a minimum five years related experience

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Can we be more specific: Must be willing to lift up to X pounds, pull Y pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.
