Introduction to the job

Interested in physical security? ASML is looking for a Physical Security Expert (1FTE USA). To keep up with the geographical expansion of the responsibilities, the fast pace environment of ASML and the increasing security threats. The Security expert will be based in the region of responsibility with a broad security responsibility but a focus on Access Control / Video Surveillance / Intrusion Detection on all our regional US locations. The physical security department creates, owns and deploys reliable physical security solutions, to optimize ASML’s resilience to internal and external risks, in order to protect ASML’s physical assets.
We do this by designing and implementing (by supplier) electronic measures like access control systems, intrusion detection and video surveillance. We write user requirements for ASML premises (buildings & terrain) based on risk assessments. User requirements contain demands on electronic measures (e.g. IT based security systems & lighting), building hardening, site hardening and organizational measures (e.g. security emergency guards & security control room).

Role and responsibilities

  • Translate security requirements into organizational, constructional and electronic security measures.
  • Write specifications / requirements / security designs based on ASML standards and best practice.
  • Functional application manage security systemsmanage, program, monitor, control and audit physical security systems (e.g. access control / video surveillance) for the applicable region.

  • Check on location the implemented measures Access Control / Video Surveillance / Intrusion Detection.
  • Actively participate in providing guidance and training to end users of the security systems (e.g. security control room operators, reception desk employees).
  • Actively participate in projects / security designs.
  • Actively participate in designing security base lines, policies and procedures.
  • Key user for our global security management software applications performing functional management, administration and reporting tasks and providing support to operators.
  • Coach and support operators, security managers and contractors worldwide to embed local skills.
  • Monitor overall system availability and performance to secure agreed uptime levels.
  • Audit security operators and installers worldwide to ensure compliancy.
  • Responsible to report on system performance to identify bottlenecks and issues.
  • Provide event / incident reports on security systems in case of security incidents.
  • Manage system configurations(e.g. clearance codes / system programming).
  • Interface for IT environment and Service Level Agreement.

Education and experience

  • Fluently English in spoken word and read write.
  • Mid / higher level technical physical security education with additional certifications e.g. CPP, CISSP.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in physical security projects / maintenance including complex IT topics for physical security systems.
