Our office located in Maynooth, Ireland has over 150 employees and around 10 in the UK and we are expecting further growth to support our customers.Therefore we are looking for an HR manager, who will be responsible for the overall HR strategy, programs and work place culture in the country.

Role and responsibilities

The HR Manager is responsible for the overall HR strategy, programs and work place culture in the country. He/she will develop quality initiatives and apply practices positioning ASML as a great place to work to attract and retain talent. Operating with a sense of urgency and possessing past experience working in a fast-paced, complex, high-profile environment, this is a business partner and country HR role.

ASML operates in a global matrix structure whereby the Country HR Manager has responsibility for all sectors operating in the country (Ireland and UK). This role will work closely and collaboratively with the country leadership team, the Europe HR expertise functions (C&B, recruitment and People Services) and HR line of functions with staff in the country. The HR expertise functions provide also operational support for recruitment and HR admin.

This role is accountable for successful implementation and execution of policies and initiatives in the following functions: employee relations, employee development, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, policies and procedures.

This HR Manager will collaborate closely with the business leaders and provide proactive support to the management, ensuring consistent and sound advice, both legal and practical, while earning credibility, exercising sound judgment, and demonstrating transparency with decisions and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

The reporting line of HR Manager is to Head of HR Netherlands & Europe (primary) and Country Manager (secondary), while keeping strong working relationship with the sector responsible HR line colleagues

Major Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the country People Agenda in line with Sectors requirements and specific local requirements
  • Initiate development of country updates/changes to global policies, processes, and systems within global framework and liaises with Global Expertise with respect to deviations. Focus will be on Ireland and the UK, while ensuring alignment within the larger Europe region (as applicable).
  • Manage and execute on important HR topics including:
    • Headcount Planning, recruitment and onboarding
    • Performance Management
    • Organization and Talent Development
    • Learning and Development
    • Compensation and Benefits
    • Policies and Practices
  • Current priorities: recruit and onboard new staff to support the strong business growth, strengthen the mid-level management group, employee engagement and create sustainable career paths for engineers, team leaders and managers
  • Support management in the changing environment
  • Involvement and potentially leading cross regional HR projects in area of Talent Management, People Development, C&B, employee engagement

Education and experience

·10+ years of local work experience in a large international company with a matrix structure, preferably in a complex machine business, for example:semiconductors, medical devices, aircraft engines, automotive telemetrics. Work experience outside own country is advantageous.

·A strong HR generalist who has a variety of HR experience and is familiar with the key elements such as recruitment, compensation & benefits, evaluation and promotion schemes, organizational development and management training as well as employee development

·At least 4 years’ experience as a manager representing HR as a member of the management team

·Excelent knowledge of labor laws and working culture of Ireland (and UK is an advantage)
