Role and responsibilities

ASML in Veldhoven is seeking a Resist & Wafer Processing Engineer in the Development & Engineering (D&E) department. The mission of this job is to optimize processes and equipment that are needed for the demonstration of the advanced performance of ASML’s latest machines. You will work on projects that are critical to our customers and interface with other development teams, project management, manufacturing, marketing, and suppliers. Teamwork and collaboration are vital to achieve your goals.

Your responsibilities will be focused on the design and integration of patterned wafers, which are tools used to calibrate and qualify ASML machines. Activities include, among others: 

  • Meet shared goals together with the project team, pointing out problems and bottlenecks, working out improvements and initiating their implementation
  • Own expertise on how design choices for patterned wafer creation (such as photoresist type, processing, and chemical deposition) influence ASML scanner performance
  • Lead the integration process for patterned wafer creation, from supplier selection to volume manufacturing, by interfacing with various departments in and outside ASML

The holder of this position is reporting to the manager of the Resist & Wafer Processing group. This group is part of the D&E Cross Product Performance Department in the P&I Cluster.
Within ASML, the D&E sector is responsible for the specification, design, engineering, integration, and qualification of the ASML products. In this sector, departments with different competences are responsible for the various modules of the ASML products. Each department consists of discipline and/or function-oriented groups where emphasis lies on specific competences or functions needed to build ASML equipment. The D&E Performance & Integration (P&I) cluster has emphasis on ASML system level specification, qualification, integration, and industrialization activities.

Education and experience

MSc. or PhD degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology or Polymer Chemistry

  • Minimum 1-2 years working experience 
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment and processes is an advantage
  • Experience with integration work or configuration management is an advantage
