Introduction to the job

The ASML sector Development & Engineering is responsible for specification and design of ASML products. In this sector, the department Embedded Software Design (ESD) ensures delivery of integrated embedded software solutions that support the business success of ASML with agreed quality, cost and in-time.

In the Tin Supply and Refilll team, we need an experienced SW test architect to lead the testing activities across different products. The SW Test Architect (Embedded Software) is a member of the software development group and will be responsible for test strategy on team/group level. You will work in close cooperation with your team/group members, while staying independent in testing domain.

Role and responsibilities

Job Mission
The SW Test Architect (Embedded Software) is responsible for testing the team deliverables, aiming for higher quality software, early bug finding and earlier delivery.

- Propose a SW Test strategy in line with the higher level one(s)
- Convert the strategy in a roadmap, aligned with the main FC SW Roadmap
- Deploy deliverables in this roadmap at product level so to ensure a close link between testing and product deliverables.
- Keep team accountable for quality improvements and make sure no shortcuts on quality are taken.
- Review high level requirements and specifications, write test strategy, implement test strategy, execute, test roadmap.
- Develop test competence and contribute to continuous integration on department level.
- Test Impact determination:
- In discussion with system engineers, architects and developers, you will determine the impact of a deliverable to be able to define a smart test strategy.
- You will look at the deliverables from a customer’s point-of-view.

Education and experience

- HBO/ MSc level education within preferably Computer Science, Physics, Electronics, Mechanics, Mathematics or comparable
- ISTQB Foundation or T-Map Certificate. ISTQB Advanced level (preferably)

- Experience in testing high-tech systems, including non-functional testing,
- Experience with embedded systems,
- Experience in writing high level test plans on basis of requirements, design documents and implicit knowledge of people, experience in definition of test strategy.
- Experience with programming/scripting/automation, like: C, C++, Unix (e.g. csh), Linux, Python,
- Experience with version control (e.g. Clear Case, git), continuous integration, FMEA, test automation, stubs and mocks (e.g. Google Mock).
