The purpose of the Senior Space Planner is to manage the strategic and tactical space planning to optimize the housing demand and supply within ASML. And to combine this with an efficient and effective housing plan based on an intended and purposeful vision. This in close collaboration with the Strategic Housing Manager, Space Data Analyst, Housing Solution Specialist, CRE project Managers, and CRE Business Partners.

All of this based on and executed within CRE’s strategic pillars (Safety, TCO, Flexibility, Business alignment, Wellbeing and Sustainability). The Senior Space Planner is part of the global matrix organization and therefore is both responsible for the space planning process of the local organization in Wilton and U.S. Customer Service Sites, as well as supports other teams in the world by establishing global processes, standards and guidelines to be used by others.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and deploy a total office housing planning for workplace demand, new buildings, rebuilding, ABW projects, small and large relocations.
  • Create a new way of working in housing space management, build this up into a solid baseline and develop into mature and professional level in line with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, manage and solve medium and short term housing issues, taking into account information about projects, occupancy and business needs to achieve best-fit solutions.
  • Be the linking pin between departments, expertise, project management and suppliers and create a sustainable collaboration model between them.
  • Translate strategic housing issues into tactical solutions to be delegated to housing solutions specialist and services.
  • Translate all applicable housing data, share and discuss with CRE Business Partners and floor managers in order to create the correct housing solutions.
  • Map and safeguard the balance between workplace solutions like work & meeting space, technical areas, warehousing, training centers and service area’s and find applicable solutions where necessary.
  • Act as the expert in the applicable field of space planning, yet maintaining a helicopter/generic view to monitor and judge impact on other assets, projects and use/occupancy of buildings.
  • Manage and work in close connection with other competence experts and co-create/develop solutions from integrated view.
  • Embed functional ownership by taking leadership and strong standpoint from space planning perspective in housing demand and supply discussions.
  • Find a good balance between prescribing guidelines versus workable requirements that meet the needs of the business (delivery time in projects).
  • Manage a complex field of stakeholders and in particular manage various interests and be able to explain and deliberate the necessity of the guidelines set by you as the leading expert.
  • Decide about/approve space planning in the demand/supply discussions.
  • Decide upon guidelines and standards that are leading for managing and maintaining space, contributing to the optimal performance for ASML.

Education and experience

  • BS is required in Facility Management or similar. MS degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of similar experience in housing space management, scenario, and demand management
  • Must have strong communication skills

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
  • This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
