Introduction – Job Mission

The discharge chamber is a core module of the ArF excimer laser. One of the biggest challenges is to evaluate its intrinsic performance without interference from other modules in the system. In this internship, you will tackle this challenge with your knowledge, experience and talent.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

·Develop metrology the measure the amplified spontaneous emission of the discharge chamber.

·Read internal materials and learn about the previous studies in this topic.

·Verify link between the new metrology and existent metrics of the chamber.

·Investigate deviation and variation of the metric under different conditions.

·Document and present the findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about the achievements.

·Learn about working in a corporate setting and acquire hands on experience solving real world problems in a team environment.

Education and Experience

Education:

•Current active students in PhD or MS program (PhD preferred) and will be graduating at the end of 2023 or 2024

•Preferred Major/Field of Study: Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plasma Engineering, or similar engineering discipline

Experience:

•Knowledge of fundamentals of physics and engineering

•Hands-on experience with building and setting up engineering/physics experiments

•Data acquisition software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW …etc

•Data analysis capability

•Hands-on experience with oscilloscope, signal generator, network analyzer, high voltage probes would be a plus

•Any experience with mechanical CAD programs would be a plus

•Any experience with electrical circuit simulation tool such as Simulink and Micro-Cap would be a plus

Role within the Factory

Responsibilities

·Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

·While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

·Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

·Can work under deadlines.

·The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.

·This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
