Job Mission:

HMI Technology Group in San Jose, CA is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead a team of technologist and technical expert to focus on new e-beam technology research, development and innovation to support HMI business’ success(Current product roadmap and beyond). The Technology Group will also be responsible for develop Engineering/technology demonstrators for technical concept verification.Specifically, this TPM role will work in a project team that will oversee the status of technical projects and research activities, and also work closely together with researchers, experts as well as research partners to ensure technology concept has been demonstrated.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

Responsible for leadership of assigned e-beam research projects within the HMI Technology program.
Scope will include facilitation of the generation and maintenance of technology roadmaps, alignment of the roadmaps to the program planning, and project-level execution of the activities within the scope of these roadmaps as they support the program objectives.
Generation and maintenance of the project plan, detailing all activities to be conducted within the assigned e-beam research projects, including test planning, test execution, report generation, etc
Ensures proper documentation is completed for each activity within the project, and that adequate documentation exists for D&E (feasibility results, test procedures, drawings, BOMs etc.).
Ensure the successful demonstration of system/module level performance targets to meet the future technology roadmap, as conducted by the project members.
Proactively communicates issues and manages the solution paths. Assesses and highlights risks and develops mitigation plans. Use escalation channel as needed.
Supports the Program Manager (provides information, fill-in during absence, etc.) as required.
Manage and align resources provided by cross-functional teams. Develop resource plans for experimental campaigns and project related work.
Management of the triple constraint: timing, budget, and resource.
Nominal travel (~10%) to Europe, Asia, and within the US can be expected on a routine basis.

Education and experience

Minimum qualifications:

3~7 years of project management or related experience.
Experience in the semiconductor industry, semiconductor equipment industry or research lab experience
Experience in working with engineers across disciplines to conduct research work on complex systems in a timely manner. Strong emphasis on creative problem solving and effective communication.
Experience in demonstration of project management and leadership over the full life-cycle of a project, with corresponding successful completion and delivery of project objectives.
Understanding of scientific research methods and strong curiosity.

Preferred qualifications:

The successful candidate will not only have excelled in their technical field, but will have demonstrated inter-personal and communications strengths.
Hands-on experience with complex system design and build, characterization, troubleshooting.
Ability to clearly and logically communicate ideas and knowledge to various audiences.

Personal Skills:

Be able to break down complex problems with limited data to come to strategies and plans-strong critical thinking capability.
Have strong written and oral communication skills and a commitment to achieving results while under time constraints. Responsible, professional communication to senior management at ASML including remote locations. High energy, high ownership, high level of dedication.
Be willing to jump in on new ideas, get a first assessment of priority in the research portfolio and help make strategy decisions alongside the research management team.
Be able to interface with multidisciplinary groups and work effectively in a team and be willing to take on responsibility, follow through and keep multiple simultaneous assignments on schedule.
Be able to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and on-the-job training and be capable of thoroughly investigating technical issues (analytically and hands-on in a lab).

This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA .It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation. (Important to insert additional onsite language specific to the role: i.e., inspection, specific training and supervision, etc.)
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
