Introduction to the job

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design and implementation of the ASML products. In this sector, the department Software Quality & Integration (SW SQI) integrates and qualifies the various software systems into a software release.

The SW Configuration architect is in the middle of the ASML lithography scanner organization, where all SW is combined into packages (baselines, service packs, patches) to send the packages to the field. You have a key position to work together with all SW development departments, SW architects and SQI department architect, SQI integration architect. The SW Configuration Architect reports to the group leader SQI Integration & Release.

Role and responsibilities

You create a long term vision and definition of the SW integration strategy, using the version management systems. Also definition and roll out of the corresponding tools to support the SW integration for all developers are part of your scope. Improving the way of working, including embedding CI/CD in the organization, is key in this role.

Define, describe and promote the SW configuration management roadmap, compliant to the department roadmap and the release strategy. You work together with the SW architects and SW test architect and SW integration architect, in such a way that the quality of the released SW can be ensured. Roll out the tools and way of working to enable the release roadmaps and ensure timely deliveries to customers from planned service packs to emergency patches. You will work together with the SW integrators and the SW release project leaders to improve the integration efficiency and quality and decreasing integration time. Together with software release project leaders you ensure budget becomes available to realize these improvements.

Education and experience

Master degree in Computer Science or relevant with proof of similar functions taken up at earlier assignments

  • At least 5 years of experience in Software Architecture
  • At least 5 years of experience in Software Integration
  • Stakeholder management (architects, integrators, management)
  • Experience with large Software Archives
  • Experience with version management systems, like ClearCase, SVN, Git, Bitbucket
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with automation and Python
  • Knowledge of ASML Twinscan software system is a plus
