Job Mission

ASML US, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and business teams are critically dependent on their ability to leverage enterprise / business process data from internal business systems and applications, from suppliers, and from customers to run, optimize, and improve our business operations and services.The processing, enrichment, and consumption of this data is essential to improve business processes, drive operational performance improvements and continuously increase efficiencies in customer service and business operations.

The mission of this position is to understand, extend, and enable consumption of the ASML enterprise / business process data foundation in order to realize business benefits and improvements to support our aggressive business growth and new requirements in business insight, business capabilities, and integration as well as technical data volume, data processing, and trusted data enablement for ASML US.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

This position is located in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will be part of the ASML IT Solution Delivery Analytics US team and be responsible for the understanding, extending and enriching the ASML enterprise data landscape, applications and platforms, contribute to new capability/technology assessments and pilots, and consult/support day to day operations of specific solutions that support analytics, innovation, and insight for ASML US teams.This hands-on solution application architecture role also entails additional strategic and operational responsibilities to contribute to the definition of ASML’s direction for information management, analytics, and Big Data.

You will work with your team to capture the constant and dynamic refinement of business priorities and data & analytics user stories. Together with your team you will work constantly to drive ASML’s ambition by building a modern Data & Analytics platform and data foundation, using modern DevOps and Cloud components and leveraging the Agile mindset fully.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support robust, enterprise-grade data pipelines from external and internal data sources into on-premise and on-cloud data targets
  • Improve, automate, and strengthen existing data pipelines to improve reliability and availability
  • Contribute to the design and implementation to the innovation and improvement of the ASML data foundation
  • Strong partner in discussions with solution team system architect and other stakeholders within the internal customer departments
  • Contribute to Hadoop and Cloud competence to strengthen and improve local data engineering capabilities and capacity
  • Keep abreast with relevant literature, means and methods
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical domain.Master’s degree preferred.
  • SAP, S4HANA and SAP HANA certifications related to enterprise business operations, solution architecture and cloud data management a strong plus.
  • Azure, GCP, or AWS certifications related to solution architecture, data management and/or data engineering a plus.
  • Business Management or Operational Excellence degree or equivalent certificates (i.e. Lean Six Sigma, etc.) a plus
  • Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR-P), American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) certifications a plus.
  • Agile Solution Architect (TOGAF, Agilest, etc.) certification or equivalent training a plus; Scaled Agile (SAFe) Solution Architect certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge/hands-on experience with software/technical tools (i.e. Solidworks, NX, etc.).
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with data management, processing, and integration for business critical systems and enterprise business operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex products business environment and business domains (Innovation/R&D, Supply chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service); experience with semiconductor industry, discrete high-tech manufacturing, and global supply chain / logistics a plus. Solid understanding of ASML and Cymer environments and business operations a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise with developing and driving realization of data-centric application architecture and development, information policy formation, information taxonomy and modeling.
  • Demonstrated competence in business operations, data domain analysis, data warehousing (design and operations), and database design.
  • Demonstrated competence with benefits, design and management of structured and unstructured cloud native content and databases / repositories and hands-on experience with specific products.
  • Demonstrated expertise of business processes, integration, and data structures supported by enterprise business systems (SAP, Oracle EBS, Siemens PLM, etc.).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of benefits and positioning of data virtualization.
  • Working knowledge of data science, data mining, OLAP programming, database management and programming, business process modeling and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of mobile-enabled business analytics architecture and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of statistical computing and graphics programming languages.
  • Working knowledge of open source or commercial data visualization tools.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based offerings and vendor differentiation related to analytics, data management, integration, data quality, and information processing platforms and capabilities.
  • Familiar with data governance principles, enterprise data modeling, and data management practices.
  • Proficient with cloud native services such as SAP HANA Cloud, Google BigQuery / Azure Synapse, Databricks, Managed Kubernetes: GKE or AKS, Serverless programming, Azure Data Factory or Google Cloud Dataflow.
