Job Mission
Continuous improvement role to optimize work process, systems, human and material resources using qualitative and quantitative skills to increase quality and efficiency. Along with Manufacturing Operations team, executes projects that represent improvements to internal and external organizations. Contributes with cross-functional team in the manufacturing organization and conducts projects across departments to improve the organization.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves organization/ system/ equipment/ process optimization methods for the manufacturing operations team.
  • Lead improvements resulting in a gemba and visual workplace daily management environment
  • Apply the principles of `waste reduction'; muda, muri, and mura
  • Drive measurable improvements in quality, material control, throughput, flexibility, and cost.
  • Develop and lead continuous improvement project plans along with department managers, engineers, and shop floor supervisors to instill Lean disciplines and implement continuous improvement projects across the Mfg. organization.
  • Develop, participate, and lead training sessions in Lean, kaizen, and problem-solving methods.
  • Analyze production/service schedules, engineering/technical specifications, process flows, and other information to improve methods and activities in manufacturing and services.
  • Optimizes Manufacturing and Logistics material flow, process flow, and layouts using LEAN/Six Sigma principles.
  • Facilitates Kaizen events.

Education and experience

Minimum qualifications – the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including:

  • A Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering or equivalent discipline is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in an industrial engineering or Lean discipline
  • Lean certified preferred
  • Six Sigma green belt or black belt preferred

  • Experience working successfully with technically oriented customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers and internal customers.

    • Operations, Lean, GeneralEngineering, Quality Control, Data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift, as needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
