Background information

The Embedded Logic & Firmware (ELF) community develops digital designs for the ASML highest-resolution lithography systems. The purpose of the assignment is to develop diagnostics, debug and a verification environment to existing Actuator/Sensor IO-Boards with high-end FPGAs.

Your assignment

For this assignment, you will:

  • identify the best possible universal diagnostics and debugging capabilities for a digital design on a high-end FPGA i.c.w. ASML digital design flow;
  • define requirements of the best possible universal diagnostics of a digital design in a high-end FPGA, for universal ASML IO-boards;
  • implement a diagnostics dashboard for universal ASML actuator and sensor boards;
  • design a digital design for re-use, including Design-In-Guide;

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • are a student with a background in Electrical Engineering;
  • have knowledge in developing FPGA code (VHDL) and Linux;
  • have experience in SoC FPGA's and in programming an embedded system in C/C++ and MatLab/Simulink;
  • have good analytical skills;
  • have great communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

This is an apprentice internship for bachelor or master students, with a minimum duration of 4 months, 4 days per week, starting in January 2023.

Please note that we may only consider applicants who are enrolled as a student to a university for the whole duration of the internship.
