Our Operations IT delivery groups are expanding as result of ASML’s exceptional growth. To further scale up our groups we are expanding the manufacturing delivery teams and are looking for an IT group lead to further build and expand our SAFe Agile Release Trains (ARTs’).
Role and responsibilities
Context of the position
In the IT solution delivery manufacturing department we provide IT services to the manufacturing departments such as the factories and safety & quality. This is done via business facing ART’s. In addition we provide a platform for x-sector solutions within IT. As group lead, You will manager your (internal and external) employees working in the ART’s and lead them in the definition, development and support of the IT solutions for manufacturing. Teams are organized globally and are working from multiple locations. We collaborate intensively with enterprise service providers, continuously improving the performance of the ART. Delivery, speed and quality are key, which make you focus on the right craftmanship of your team intensively.
Job Mission
You are an excellent people manager in an Agile/SAFe world with knowledge of manufacturing processes. You are keen on developing and coaching individuals to become valuable members of high-performing teams. You have a good understanding of the various expertise involved in building and maintaining IT solutions in the manufacturing environments. As a member of the management team you will closely collaborate with the leading coalition of the (ART) within the IT solution delivery manufacturing department. Each ART has a leading coalition, consisting of a release train engineer (RTE), chief product owner (CPO) and the system architect (SA). You collaborate intensively with the leading coalitions of the ARTs to balance development with delivery. You have an intrinsic drive towards continuous improvement. As a manager you will also be responsible for budgeting, working with suppliers and areas of general interest to your team.
Job Description
Working in a group lead position gives you a wide arrange of responsibilities and deliverables. A grasp of what you can expect in this position:
- You will be a Delegate IT Business Partner of “Portfolio Director”. As business partner you will be responsible for the delivery of a subset of the portfolio in Manufacturing;
- Identify staffing needs within the ART based on the required competencies. This in collaboration with your leading coalition of the ART;
- Support your internal employees with their personal and professional development as well as providing career coaching to your employees;
- Defining and developing solutions consisting of dependencies across our portfolios. Mixing proven technologies with new and innovative concepts.
As we are growing, the teams will be expanded and new teams will be formed. You will play an important role in helping the individuals in this dynamic situation to become successful.
Education and experience
Acting in a group lead role at ASML requires a good mix between excellent soft skills and proven experience, having acted in relevant positions in similar, global manufacturing environments. You are naturally able to communicate across multiple layers within an organization and are no stranger to handle resistance from your (business) stakeholders. As we are working in a high-pressure environment, you are very well able to handle yourself (and your teams) in a similar environment. In this role you are tasked to bring Agile leadership to the table and are a strong coach who is able to influence without power in both your teams and towards your stakeholders.
Ideally you bring the following experience:
- At least 5 years of experience building self-organizing teams in similar line-management positions;
- Having a strong Agile, preferably SAFe, background;
- You have a proven experience in relevant manufacturing environments, it is key to understand our processes and domain;
- Experience with managing vendors and external personal as well as experienced in managing internationally distributed teams;
- At least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or equivalent experience.
