Introduction to the job
The mission of Production Engineer is to run production line according to standard work procedure and standard work package. Be able to solve technical issues based on guidance to secure output schedule. Responsible for quick resolution of technical disturbance, enrichment of work procedure/tooling on sub system/module level and optimizing processes/cycle time within own competence.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Role and responsibilities
As a Production Engineer your job content depends on your knowledge, skills and interests. The production engineer group consists of multiple clusters with a focus on different parts of the SEM machine. In the end, all these clusters collaborate to work towards the same goal: delivering high quality products within the committed cycle time. The overall pillars are as follows:
Generic:
As a Production Engineer you will contribute to the 4 main PE drivers:
Increase efficiency
Increase quality
Decrease cycle time
Decrease costs
Continuous Improvement:
Analyze the manufacturing procedures both on the factory floor as from roadmaps (cycle time and labor hours) and pointing out structural problems and bottlenecks;.
Work out suggestions for improvements and initiate their implementation often in close cooperation with the surrounding departments such as Development, Supply Chain and Customer Support;
Continuously adapt and optimize operating instructions, routings, process parameters and indicators;
You get the opportunity to initiate your own improvement ideas, such as setting up processes for re-use of materials or introducing new tooling on the factory floor.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
You use your knowledge in product or process development projects, and improve the manufacturability of the product;
You are actively involved in the release for volume take over from R&D to the factory floor where E-beam systems are produced.
Education and experience
Bachelor in(Applied)Physics/Mechatronics/Electronics/Mechanics
Preferably 3 years of experience in a productionenvironment with high tech products and complex production processes,preferably in both assembly and test environment
Experience with Lean Manufacturing is an advantage
Experience in the field of Technical ProductionEngineering and quality methodology such as statistical process controland FMEA is an advantage
Experience with high vacuum technology and/or high voltageknowledge is preferred

Other information
The California base annual salary / hourly range for this role is currently $101,000 - $155,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and
