The Technical Author reviews and publishes the technical documents( procedures, manuals, etc) generated by IE engineers.
The technical documentation is necessary to:
- build the ASML products by the Work Centers;
- to install them at Customer site by the Install Team;
- to service them at Customer site by the local Field Service Engineers.
This means working closely with the IE engineers on the procedures needed for production, maintenance, repair, upgrade and installation of the systems via the ASML dynamic publishing software environment.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Role and responsibilities
Technical Author role dedicated to support the process of creating and maintaining procedures including: document review, Illustration review, field support (Comments tool), and training.
Technical Author has the following responsibilities:
Develop a thorough understanding of the audience and the documentation requirement by working closely with the internal team
Researches and builds knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
Prepares and review graphics & Illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing
Analyze current content and make improvements as necessary
Work with Equipment and/or Manufacturing Engineers to ensure that the finished documentation meets the technical requirements
Creates, adapts, and follows project schedules and deadlines
Remains up-to-date on technological and product developments as well as universal specifications relevant to the industry
Attends conferences and educational seminars pertinent to the industry
Education and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Engineering, English or equivalent preferred
2-5 years of work experience
Experience in technical writing
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
