This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

A leading, publicly-traded, multinational technology company is looking for a bright, self-motivated lawyer with strong general legal experience to join its in-house legal team and assist with a broad range of corporate and transactional matters for the U.S. region.This is a Legal Counsel position based in Chandler, AZ.

ASML’s US Legal & Compliance Department consists of several attorneys, compliance professionals, paralegals and contract support.We are a close-knit group of highly empowered, business-oriented professionals with broad responsibilities, who enjoy working together.

  • Providing legal support and advice to the US procurement group, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier/vendor-related, real estate and professional services agreements.
  • Supporting ASML’s research and development efforts, includingnegotiating joint development agreements, donations & gifts, andR&D agreements.
  • Assisting with corporate legal entity management andgovernance of ASML’s US companies.
  • Build close relationships with key stakeholders to become atrusted counselor and partner.
  • Provide timely, proactive, and business-focused legal adviceto internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating closely with other members of the Legal &Compliance Department.
  • Utilizing and managing outside counsel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

  • J.D. degree andhave a membership in a state Bar.
  • Minimum 6 ofyears of relevant experience (some in-house experience a plus)
  • Directexperience in negotiating business transactions.
  • Strongbackground in commercial law.
  • Candidates withexposure to international business and high technology environments aplus.
