Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the design and specifications of ASML’s products. The department System Integration is part of D&E and responsible to manage risk during the integration phase of our products. Proto systems are used to verify the design concept at system level, which includes hardware and software.

For the first time in ASML history will be perform System Integration outside ASML’s cleanroom. Around mid-2023 one of the Proto Integration systems will be relocated to Imec (Leuven-BE). This system will stay there for at least 2 years.

Role and responsibilities

As a Proto Engineer EUV 24x7 you are responsible for the execution of the daily plan created by the Proto Integrator to support D&E project with their tests to validate the design at IMEC (Leuven – Belgium).

You are responsible for:

• Safety and wellbeing
  Ensuring safe working environment and work according 5S principles.
• Quality is our habit
  Keeping the assigned machines in perfect state, i.e., hard and software, configuration up to date and well-functioning.
• Drive integration
  Ensuring efficient and effective integration activities on the machines, by
  - Execute test plans on the machine in a most efficient way;
  - Escalate in case problems cannot be solved by yourself;
  - Provide technical support to D&E engineers;
  - Review and prepare test plans.
  Determining whether issues are related to new design or proto system and solve and report the issues.
• Challenge, collaborate and care
  Proto integration is where things comes together. The product, the process, the people. Your behavior is therefore crucial to ensure we will reach our goals together in the end!

Daily interface consist of Proto Engineers, Proto Integrator, System Test Engineer, Proto Configuration Engineer, D&E projects and the local IMEC team. In this role you will report to your local team manager and home group Lead.

Education and experience

Technical Bachelor (BsC/BEng) or Master (MSc) degree. Preferred fields of study: Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering.

There are no constraints on working experience. The following items are a pre:

• Experience in a multi-disciplined and dynamic work environment.
• Knowledge of measurement systems and/or testing system functionality.
• Working with complex systems.

The vacancy Proto engineer EUV 24x7, means that you will be working on shifts.

Work schedule in 10-day cycle:

• 2 days Morning shift: 6:00 - 14:30
• 2 days Evening shift: 14:00 - 22:30
• 2 days Night shift: 22:00 - 06:30
• 4 days off

On top of the inconvenience allowance for working in shifts you will be receiving Business Travel Plus benefits for your allocation in Belgium.

Candidates need to commit for at least 2-year allocation at Imec. Occasional travel to Veldhoven could be involved.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
