Role and responsibilities

Join us on the journey of making the most cutting edge e-beam inspection and metrology tools and pushing the limit of chip manufacturing. As a Sr Electron Optics Engineer, you will be responsible for building high quality scanning electron microscope products and driving the issue resolution of the system and modules.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

The California base annual salary / hourly range for this role is currently $115,875 - $193,125. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and

Work closely with design team to assemble the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) prototypes and feedback for design improvements. Review and provide inputs to the service volume design and service procedures.

Responsible to align the SEM and test the SEM performance based on the test performance specifications and generate test reports. Mentor other engineers of the SEM alignment techniques.

Make plan and execute SEM alignment and performance test during system integration and drive the issue troubleshooting to secure shipment and customer commitment.
Provide action plan to CS AIR in a timely manner
Onsite support the tool installation in the customer site
Co-work with designers to build and to improve test equipment for SEM integration
Perform high voltage and vacuum leak test for SEM components and SEM systems

Education and experience

PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum qualifications:
2+ years of relevant experience
Hands-on experience in assembling
Troubleshooting skills on complex system

Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
Must be willing to lift up to 40 pounds, pull 20 pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
Require up to 25% travel (domestic and international) dependent on business needs.
Require on call support during weekend and at night dependent on business needs.
Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines.
