Introduction

Are you doing a masters in physics or mathematics? Are you experienced with optics? Are you detail-oriented and well structured? Then this internship might be interesting for you!

Background information

At ASML Delft in close collaboration with ASML Research in Veldhoven, we are developing electron microscopes for wafer inspection and metrology. In order to design the correct microscope for the applications it is essential to understand how system state variations and perturbations affect the resulting images, and vice versa.

Your assignment

The purpose of this internship is to study what information can be extracted from SEM images and how these can best be (mathematically and data science wise) be described. And how the variations and disturbances of the SEM lead to changes in this information. The project involves a literature study, the development of novel data information techniques with an emphasis on extracting information from available data, describing SEM experiments, and a possible execution of these. Main location is ASML Delft, with regular travel to ASML Veldhoven and TUD.
