Role and responsibilities

ASML is looking for a bright, self-motivated, and business-savvy lawyer with strong interpersonal and communication skills and solid general legal experience to join its in-house legal team and assist with a broad range of corporate, compliance, and transactional matters. This is a Legal Counsel position based in Hsinchu, reporting into the Head of Legal and Compliance Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

In close cooperation with globally-based legal and compliance teams, the successful candidate will handle a broad variety of legal work, including:

Providing legal support and advice to business units, including procurement, customer service & account management, HR, facilities and EHS.
Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts with customers and suppliers, including purchase agreements, service agreements, and software license agreements.
Implementing and enforcing company-wide compliance initiatives.
Managing local corporate filings and governance issues.

Education and experience

JD, master or equivalent (law) degree. Taiwan Bar Exam.In-house experience in a MNC is a big plus.

At least 7 years of legal experience

Must have an international mindset and enjoy working as part of a global team.
International experience and/or a US, UK or EU law degree.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong networking skills and ability to establish relationships within the Legal Department and across all business units in Taiwan and abroad.
Fluency in English and Mandarin.
Good understanding of the regulatory environment in Taiwan. Employment law experience is a plus.
