Introduction to the job
ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Ariz., San Jose and San Diego, Calif., Wilton, Conn., and Hillsboro, Ore.
Role and responsibilities
The Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer position is set to play an important role in layout, routing, part selection, design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of all electrically driven devices in our new SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) systems, including stages, robots, motors, pumps, fans, PLC, etc. While function performances of each equipped device must meet system’s requirements, minimization of electronic noises/interferences, acoustic noises, mechanical vibration and heat dissipation must also be taken into comprehensive consideration to these sensitive systems. Industrial standards/regulations should be conformed, and high reliability should be ensured.
Lead the communication between designers and project manager, close the gap between concept and reality.
Cross-functional management with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing and multi-aspects engineering stakeholders.
Deep involvement of System Cable layout, Cable Routing, Schematic Design, Cable Manufacturing and Validation.
Design Electro-mechanical enclosures, together with life cycle implementation, concept and detailed 3D CAD design of complex electrical cabinets, modules, racks and PCBA according to semiconductor industry requirement, and prepare for 2D drawings for manufacturing.
Teamcenter data management and documentation maintenance, NX 3D/2D modeling and drafting, Synchronous Modeling, Surface Modeling and Curve design.
Generate technical performance specifications, lead TAS review with supplier, extensive review of 2D drawing, 3D designs and manufacturing documentations, and provide detailed feedback to design owners and manufacture. Creation of detailed design documentation and review documents including performance specification, design specification, critical design review document, test specification, test report and more.
Involve system integration and calibration, provide in-depth understanding of system issues and solutions. Requires prototype testing in semiconductor machine environment and bench environment and shall be able to quickly locate root cause if any issue comes up.
