Role and responsibilities
Join us on the journey of making the most cutting edge e-beam inspection and metrology tools and pushing the limit of chip manufacturing. As a Sr Electron Optics Engineer, you will be responsible for breaking down the SEM design specifications and for qualifying the specifications are being met in the system.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Work closely with system engineers, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) system architects, SEM function architects to define and agree on the SEM module specifications and tolerance budget breakdown.
Take ownership of ensuring the module level specifications are met before integrating to the SEM system and ensuring the overall SEM performance meet the system requirements before integrating SEM to system. Define test method and specifications and drive the implementation of the tests.
Lead and drive the investigation and resolution of the issues if the SEM system specifications cannot be met. Report updates to the senior management team on a weekly basis.
Work closely with other electron optics engineers to track the performance of SEMs on every system. Update the specifications based on the test results.
Work with test system develop engineer to design test benches that can fully qualify the SEM performance
Onsite support the SEM performance issues at customer site

The California base annual salary / hourly range for this role is currently $143,625 - $239,375. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and

Education and experience
PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or equivalent work experience in hardware system engineering or electron microscopy.

Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
Must be willing to lift up to 40 pounds, pull 20 pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
Require up to 25% travel (domestic and international) dependent on business needs.
Require on call support during weekend and at night dependent on business needs.
