ASML Wilton is seeking a highly motivated EH&S Training Specialist will be responsible for providing training and materials in compliance with federal, state, and company workplace health & safety programs. The EH&S Training Specialists will work closely with the EH&S Manager and a variety of company departments to support the EH&S program and regulatory compliance along with the maintenance of a safe work environment. With the committed support of ASML Wilton and ASML Corporate Management, promotes a culture focused on safety and injury prevention to maintain and implement best practices for a comprehensive Safety Management System.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Role and responsibilities
- Improve EH&S performance by promoting an incident-free workplace, identifying and mitigating safety risks and implementing safety programs.
- Development and implementation of programs and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local occupational safety standards, ISO 14001 & 45001, and ASML Corporate requirements.
- Conduct audits to identify training & safety opportunities.
- Conduct risk assessments such as hazard assessments or ergonomic assessments as needed.
- Coordinate investigation of incidents and accidents to identify root causes and to develop robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Help to identify “at-risk” behaviors and train employees on how to conduct safety observations.
- Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
- Monitor, revise and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws, or reporting requirements.
- Serve as Safety Champion, subject matter expert and resource.
- Perform GEMBA walks (behavioral safety observations) in partnership with operational teams.
- Be a key influencer to improve overall safety culture.
- Provide monthly reporting of training results along with other data collection and analysis.
- Routine internal reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual updates).
- Conduct business with the highest ethical standards and demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with ASML operations.
Training:
- Develop, maintain and coordinate with shift supervisors a periodic training schedule to build and ensure competency throughout the work force.
- Develop training qualification plans for new and existing employees with progression goals.
- Trains workforce on a variety of processes at workstations and classrooms.
- Develop training programs for newly acquired equipment and processes.
- Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
- Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
- Assess employee training levels and determine if additional training is required.
- Maintain training database as well as training documentation.
- Coordinate OSHA “right-to-know” programs and required training.
- Plan, develop, and implement safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs including auditing processes and standards.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- 6+ years experience of work experience as an Environmental, Health and Safety professional
- Professional License or Certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.) is a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards
- Advanced knowledge of health and safety programs including but not limited to, Working at Heights, Fall Protection, Lockout Tagout, Electrical Standards for IEW/QEW, Crane and Hoists, Powered Industrial Trucks, Shipping of Dangerous Goods, Lasers, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Hazardous and Highly Toxic Gases, Risk Awareness, etc.
- Possess technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continue improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) is a plus
