The Lab & tool safety group is a subgroup of the department Safety & compliance and is part of the sector Development & Engineering. The mission of Lab & tool safety is to enable safe working conditions and establish safe & compliant tools, for commercial products and equipment within the D&E, laboratories / Technical areas via safety certification.
The Lab & tool safety group supports D&E with safe test systems that enables ASML to develop new technologies for the future commercial systems.
It is a dynamic and fast changing high tec environment where safety is a key driver in the daily operations. This makes this environment very attractive to work in.
In ASML Netherlands there are more than 160 known laboratories and technical areas where test setups and laboratory equipment is located.
These areas need to be safe to work in. the Lab & tool safety group helps and facilitates D&E organization to be compliant with Safety standards and legislation. The vacancy that is open is for the position as safety expert
The safety expert is responsible for the safety validation of laboratory equipment within several clusters of the D&E organization.
Role and responsibilities
Name: L&T (Lab & Tool) Safety expert
The L&T safety expert provides expertise in operational safety and machine safety . He or She is responsible for enabling people to follow up on the safety for lab equipment and facilitates on regularly bases risk assessments and audits.
The L&T safety expert works jointly in a team of 7 safety experts. He or she needs to adapt continuously, work independent, has a good verbal communication in English and preferable Dutch language
Project based working is an important part of the job. There is a good balance between operational and structural improvement work.
- 30% shop floor operations, 50% (technical) consultancy, App. 20% office & meetings.
- Perform safety audits on a regulatory bases
- Can work project based
- Facilitates Risk assessments
- Can Lead Incident investigations individually
- Is able to constructively present & communicate safety issues with employees on PhD and Master level.
Education and experience
Hoger veiligheidskunde Safety (HVK)
Preferable knowledge of machine safety
Preferable a study with technical background
Proven knowledge of:
- Technical experience on machine safety
- Inspection & auditing techniques
- Risk assessment & classification techniques
- Project work
