Introduction to the job
Sub-nanometer positioning of the wafer stage and the reticle stage in our ASML machines is enabled by stage position sensors. We are looking for an optical designer who can contribute to the realization of these sensors. The Stage Position Measurement (SPM) department within the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for interferometer and encoder based position measurement systems for, a.o., wafer stages and reticle stages.Role and responsibilities
We're searching for an experienced engineer to help us with the optical design of an interferometer. As a design engineer you’ll be:
• Analyzing optical designs with ray tracing
• Specifying and contributing to optomechanical interfaces
• Discussing specifications with optical and mechanical suppliers
• Building measurement setups, improving them and analyzing test results
• Specifying calibration, performance and diagnostics tests
• Integrating the optical, mechanical, electronical and software components on a test setup or in a shippable machine
• Contributing to the the system requirements of our measurement system, taking into account requirements for dynamics, control, accuracy, throughput, availability, etc.
• Coaching junior team members
Education and experience
University, Master in Physics or Mechanical Engineering
•Experience with optical sensor development or more specifically interferometers
•Strong in mathematics
•Experience with ray tracing, tolerance analysis, optomechanics
•Experience with matlab for data analysis and simulation
