Job Mission

Execute research with application to SEM metrology requirements for future electronic devices in the semiconductor industry, with an emphasis on SEM electron image formation on use cases relevant for the semiconductor industry.

Job Description

Responsibilities of a Senior research engineer in the Research “SEM and Process Modeling” group:
- Build up geometrical 3D device structures in the software for simulations including physical properties and models for various materials.
- Perform simulations on device structures to predict SEM performance capabilities.
- Validate the SEM models and assess reasons for unexpected behavior or differences with reference data.
- Collaborate with other SEM specialists, including experimentalists.
- Generate intellectual property.


Education

PhD in Physics with a background in SEM/TEM and computational modeling/simulations with preferably 5 years or more working experience in the field of electron optics.

Experience

We are look for enthusiastic researcher with the following expertise:
-Experience and affinity with setting up, running and analyzing scientific simulations.
-Understanding of physical principles of materials and structures at the nanometer scale.
-Experience in setting up computational-physics software, particularly in the area of SEM modeling.

Context of the position

Within ASML, the sector Research is responsible for creating ideas and solutions that enable a continuation of the ASML roadmaps. The group “SEM and Process modeling” is responsible for
innovations in the area of SEM metrology and computation Lithography.
