Introduction to the job
Do you get energy from working in a dynamic, international environment? Do you take ownership of results and are you a team player with strong communication skills? Do you have a passion for technology? Then working on ASML’s EUV source system is the job for you!
The mission of the Engineering team is to design, integrate & validate sustainable and reliable state of the art EUV source technology. You work with a multidisciplinary team (physics, mechanics, mechatronics, software, electronics) and ensure an effective and smooth transfer to your internal customers (customer support, manufacturing). You know what our customers need and provide solutions that meet and exceed their expectations.
Role and responsibilities
ASML is using a high-power CO2 laser as part of their EUV source. As a lead engineer in the Beam Spatial Quality group you will work on the design and integration of modules and functionalities that shape, guide and focus a high-powered infrared laser beam with extreme accuracy. Important factors here are the knowledge of thermal behavior of optics and wave aberrations and the impact of these on the focus quality of a laser beam. You will be responsible for the different qualities of a laser beam, how they propagate through the system and the specifications at the interfaces of the different functions. You are required to balance the need for a short time to market and the drive for a robust and sustainable system in the long term. This responsibility requires a high level of multidisciplinary technical knowledge (Optics, mechanics, machine conditioning, electronics) combined with good communication skills and a big drive to own solutions and bring them to implementation and acceptance at our customers.
Education and experience
Physics, mechanical or electronic engineering or mechatronics. 5+ years of experience is a must. Knowledge of ASML related processes and way of working is preferred.
