Team Mission

As most companies, ASML has a strong focus on managing the P&L. ASML has identified a need to improve on managing and optimizing invested capital. As one of the steps to realize this goal, a new Capital Efficiency team has been formed.

The mission of the team is to provide holistic and integral business insights to support high quality decision making on capital efficiency and balance sheet management. Within the team one of the main focus areas is CAPEX, which is managed within ASML from the various sectors like Operations, R&D and IT. In this role you will be responsible for ASML’s sector Capex and managing the supporting forecast and budgeting processes.

Job Description

As Business Controller CAPEX, you will bring together the CAPEX information from all ASML’s areas and create value adding insights for senior (Financial) management and the various business lines of the company. Additionally you will lead initiatives to drive improvements in ASML’s financial processes to build and maintain a world class finance function. You will work from Finance with the business and IT teams in the areas of ASML product development, supply chain, manufacturing and customer service to unlock the business value by improving the finance function in its role to deliver key insights for senior decision making.

In this role you are responsible for coordinating the processes and preparing key insights for ASML’s Capex operating reviews and decision meetings.

This includes:

  • Execution of monthly, quarterly and yearly planning and budgeting cycles and enabling cross ASML insights to drive high-quality decision making by the business
  • Actively managing stakeholders, both within finance teams as well as with business stakeholders
  • Creating insights and driving decisions by working together with other analytics teams within the company
  • Developing financial and non-financial analyses focusing on the CAPEX of various areas of ASML
  • Driving continuous improvement through initiating and executing changes together with subject matter experts to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial planning information, tools, processes, analysis and organization. Managing priority setting, problem solving and stakeholder alignment in project execution
  • Engaging and collaborating with (sr.) stakeholders in business and finance to understand their needs and requirements
  • Translating requirements in solutions to improve capabilities in terms of governance, processes, data, technology, roles and organization;
  • Coordinating the building, deployment and implementation of financial planning and reporting solutions making use of advanced data analytical tools;

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience, preferably in a financial analytics environment within the technology industry and/or project based manufacturing
  • Master degree, preferably in Business Administration or Finance
  • Expertise on (complex) financial planning and reporting processes;
  • Strong knowledge of business process management, budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Experience of utilizing market leading analytics processes and tools to support and drive business strategy
  • Ability and experience of effectively communicating and influencing across all levels of a large global organization
  • Experience with working in a matrix organization / complex international business environment
  • Experience managing and controlling Capex is an advantage
  • Knowledge of BI dashboarding & analytics;
  • Preferably experience with SAP applications like SAC ECC, S/4 HANA, BW, SAC, BPC;

Context of the position

The job is part of the ASML finance organization, within the Business Insights & Control team. Within this department, you will be part of the Capital Efficiency team and will interact with various departments in and outside of finance.
