Do you believe that predictive modelling is a great enabler for first-time-right optical design? Could you imagine yourself working with a highly motivated team at (and beyond) the edge of what is possible in optics today? If so, working in the EUV Collection Group is your ideal environment.

As an EUV Collection Optical Design Engineer you will be a key player in a very fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. You will be involved as the expert in optical design and optical modeling of the EUV source vessel. You are expected to develop and carry out a vision for the product design together with other engineers and architects.

In the source vessel, several kilowatts of IR laser power are partly converted by plasma into EUV radiation. The EUV radiation needs to be collected and transmitted to the scanner, while the non-EUV radiation needs to be absorbed and not transmitted to the scanner and the laser. The interaction of laser light and EUV radiation with the vessel and optics has to be modeled to analyze current performance and develop solutions for next source generations.

We are looking for an Optical (Senior) Design Engineer who takes the challenge to play this key role within the multidisciplinary EUV Collection environment.

Job Mission

To meet customerperformance, availability and cost requirements, we need to understand howoptical solutions contribute to these, and drive for and implement thesesolutions.

Job Description

Your main responsibilities are:

·Drive optical design of EUV source vessel

·Model light propagation in the source vessel, from source to scanner, and from vessel to laser

·Analyze optical issues, and support and plan issue resolution with peers

·Optimize current and develop new computer models for faster and better analysis and design

·Specify optical measurements with external suppliers

·Test and validate optical models

·Document results

·PhD or MSc

·For MSc: 2+ years, preferably in a commercial environment

·Preferred: Work experience should be in commercial rather than academic environment

·Strong knowledge of optical modelling principles, including nonsequential ray tracing

·1+ year experience with at least one commercial optical modelling tool

·1+ year of programming experience, preferably with Python
