Introduction to the job

Do you know the great potential of structural improvement in the area of development with respect to design transfers and product quality on the market? We need your knowledge and experience in precision mechanics and optics to evaluate development projects and to improve the methodology and quality of these development projects. Your excellent knowledge of the entire supply chain will enable you to scrutinize improvements, even beyond the work of development, with colleagues and stakeholders and to push through quality improvements for our customers.

Role and responsibilities

  • Manage and implement process improvements in accordance with the quality strategy and roadmap with a focus on development

  • Conduct process gap analyses in the team with a focus on development, and specify work issues for the quality roadmap in coordination with development areas

  • Implement and launch quality processes and tools for development and anchor them in the organization (e.g., risk management)

  • Carry out quality reviews of development projects in the team, report the quality status and KPIs of development projects to the D&D division manager, and ensure transparency

  • Facilitate FMEAs and enable colleagues to use the methodology and software

  • Coordinate the assessment of end customer complaints as a single point of contact, across departments, including planning and internal reports to the parent company's Global Quality division

  • Plan and implement internal audits as well as design the audit plan for the team according to the quality strategy and objectives as well as internal best known methods

Education and experience

  • Technical degree (Msc.) in physics, precision mechanics, chemistry, process engineering, or comparable engineering science

  • At least 3 years of experience in a quality division for optical or precision mechanics systems using ISO 9001 and higher maturity levels (IATF16949, ISO 13485 or ISO 9100)

  • Experience in product development for precision mechanics or optical systems, ideally as a project manager

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, good knowledge of English

  • Project management skills applied in multiple projects

  • Knowledge of SAP, ISO 14001, occupational safety, or completed training in precision mechanics and optics advantageous
